Apple to Restore Police-tracking App

 VIDEO:

ARTICLE:

A group of two political parties including some senators try to persuade Tim Cook, the Chief executive of Apple Inc, to bring back HKMap app used in Hong Kong. It was reported that the app was removed earlier this month. This app helped Hong Kong demonstrators track police movements. Unfortunately, Apple didn't give any comments regarding the said requests. The political parties are calling on Robert Kotick, Activision Blizzard Inc's chief executive, to reverse the resolution to ban a player who expressed his support to the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong.

The members dropped a note to Mr Cook saying that he publicly wants to work with the leader of China instead of sitting on the sidelines and squeal at them. They said: "We, too, believe that diplomacy and trade can be democratizing forces. But when a repressive government refuses to evolve or, indeed, when it doubles down, cooperation can become a collusion." On October 9, 2019, apple said that they had begun immediate investigation after users in Hong Kong notified them about the app. Apple said that they found out that it was used to harm law enforcements and residents. In return the lawmakers  said that Apple has bowdlerized 2,200 apps in China.
