Japanese Names Romanization in Official Documents

According to the Minister of Education last Friday, the Japanese  government will start writing family names first on official documents using the Roman alphabet starting January 1st.  The private sectors would be notified by the respective ministries and agencies regarding the decision of the government even though it breaks the long tradition of modifying the name structure following after other languages like English.  The administrative agencies acknowledged the use of family name first order except for out of the ordinary  state of affairs. 

They will use the uppercases to write their family names if accuracy is required.  Koichic Haguida, the minister of education, culture , sports, science and technology said that they are not looking forward to have an instant influence on companies and on the public.  Defense Minister Taro Kono and the previous Minister of Education Masahiko Shibayama first suggested this change. The administration  has come to terms with the details subsequently making up their minds to endorse the order ensuing Mr. Shibayama's recommendation at the assembly last September.
